Linux Command Reference: whois

whois is used to retrieve the Domain Name System (DNS) records associated with a domain name (forward DNS/fDNS) or IP address (reverse DNS/rDNS).

Using whois

• Enter whois vpslink.com to retrieve forward DNS records for vpslink.com
• Enter whois 66.249.0.92 to retrieve reverse DNS records for 66.249.0.92
